"Yes," he answers, shoulders dropping in relief at Damen's command. Erasmus thinks that in another life, he would have made a fine Master but he cannot imagine he makes a proper slave at all. He is unsure what to make of a land that provides slaves with coin and shelter but he doesn't dare question it, so grateful to have someone taking some measure of care for him.
